The week is delivering some genuinely unexpected news: Oblivion Remastered is heading to Switch 2 sooner than anyone anticipated, giving fans of Bethesda's beloved RPG a concrete date to circle on the calendar. Nothing is also making it official with the Ear (3a), confirming a July 7 launch alongside a fresh set of color options that suggest the brand is leaning harder into personality. And then there is the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, which somehow features both Tom Holland and Lionel Messi sharing the screen in a pairing that raises more questions than it answers.

Oblivion Remastered arrives on Switch 2 on August 11
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered lands on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, and for the first time, fans of the 2006 RPG can carry Cyrodiil around in their pocket. Bethesda and Nintendo announced it with a video that brings the game's infamous Adoring Fan to life, trailing an Oblivion player through grocery runs and toothbrushing sessions while heaping on the kind of praise that made the character a meme in the first place.
The remaster first showed up on PC, PS5, and Xbox, where it reignited a lot of affection for Oblivion. It also carried over the technical rough edges the series has always been known for. Virtuos, the studio that's pitched in on CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077, helped develop it. Sales went well, though Virtuos cut staff not long after the launch.
So the Switch 2 version means you can play the remaster anywhere starting August 11, which should help pass the time as the wait for The Elder Scrolls VI drags on.

Nothing Ear (3a) earbuds confirmed for July 7 launch in four colors
Nothing has confirmed that its next set of budget earbuds, the Nothing Ear (3a), will launch on July 7 at 11:00 BST. The news arrived through a social media teaser, which showed the earbuds in four colors: black, white, pink, and yellow. That's the same palette Nothing used on the Headphone (a). The company also let slip that it shot the teaser on the as-yet-unreleased Nothing Phone (4b).
What the teaser doesn't show is any spec sheet or design detail. Earlier leaks suggest a price somewhere around $99. Nothing's last budget earbuds came out in 2024 and reviewed well, which means the Ear (3a) has a fair bit riding on it.
The launch is only days off, so we'll get the full rundown of the Ear (3a), new features and hardware changes included, on July 7.
Messi joins Spider-Man in new Brand New Day promotional trailer
Lionel Messi has suited up for the Marvel Cinematic Universe — sort of. Sony and Marvel released a short promotional trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day timed to the World Cup's knockout stage, showing the Argentine football legend crossing paths with Tom Holland's Peter Parker in a Manhattan café. After Peter stumbles over himself in recognition, Messi holds up his phone displaying the in-universe Spidey Tracker tool, a publicly released promotional feature developed by the character Ned. Peter ducks out, reappears in the Spider-Man suit, and the clip ends with the pair swinging through the city skyline while Messi shouts with unmistakable enthusiasm.
The cameo is purely promotional and almost certainly not drawn from the film itself, but it underscores how aggressively the Brand New Day marketing machine is operating with a month to go before the July 31 theatrical release. Recent proper trailers have already done heavier lifting, officially confirming the Hulk's presence in the movie and further teasing Sadie Sink in a role that has led many to speculate she is playing an MCU version of Jean Grey.
Off-screen, Tom Holland has been doing his best to contain spoilers during press appearances, with uneven results — he has already confirmed that at least one person still knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man despite Doctor Strange's memory spell, and his response to questions about Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars amounted to a strong hint that he features in both films.
