Studio Trigger and CD Projekt RED are returning to Night City this fall with a second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and the first trailer makes clear the follow-up has no intention of softening the brutal world that made the original such a striking watch. Rather than continuing the first season's story, which concluded in famously tragic fashion, the new 10-episode standalone series introduces an entirely fresh cast navigating the same dystopian metropolis, with the same promise of violence, emotional gut-punches, and zero mercy for the naive.

At the center of the new story is Roman Carax, a young cinephile described as someone in search of stories in a city that abandoned cinema for braindances. It is a quietly fascinating character choice — placing a person obsessed with capturing real images inside a world that has retreated wholesale into simulation. The trailer shows him filming the carnage unfolding around him in Night City, suggesting his lens will eventually turn toward something far darker than he bargained for.

By steadily accumulating Microsoft Rewards points through Bing searches, these players stockpiled enough to cover the full cost of a pre-order without spending a dollar. One player, HugoWheynow, explained that he used 98,000 Microsoft points to secure his copy, thanking Rockstar for its long string of delays, which gave him extra months to keep earning.

The math behind the strategy is straightforward, if slow. Dedicated users can earn up to around 10,000 Microsoft Rewards points — roughly equivalent to ten dollars — per month through a combination of Bing searches, opening the Bing mobile app, playing games through Xbox Game Pass, and completing bonus tasks in the rewards dashboard. Once enough points are banked, they can be converted into an Xbox Gift Card and applied directly to a purchase. Hitting the roughly 98,000 points needed for a full pre-order requires serious commitment over many months, which is precisely why so few players arrived at launch day with the balance already in hand.
